Our Pastor
Walter J. Arrington is the son of the late Reverend Eddie Arrington Sr. and Mrs. Annie M. Arrington of Massillon, Ohio. He is married to Eileen and they have three children Michael, DeAngelo and Ericka, also grandfather of Moses Frank Ware. Pastor Arrington has served as the Pastor of the Peoples Baptist Church of Canton, Ohio for the last thirty-eight years (38) and he is currently in his forty-third (43) year of preaching.
Pastor Arrington was educated in the Massillon, Ohio public school system; Miami University of Oxford, Ohio; the Stephen F. Olford Institute for Biblical Preaching in Memphis, Tennessee; and WHW Expository Preaching and Teaching Ministries of Los Angeles, California. He has received a Masters Degree in Theological Studies and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Faith Evangelical Seminary in Tacoma, Washington.
Pastor Arrington served as President of the Interstate Believers Association, teacher in the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, regional coordinator for WHW Ministries, former Vice-Moderator of the Northern Ohio Baptist District Association, former President of the Northern Ohio Baptist District Association Congress of Christian Education and former First-Vice President of the Ohio Baptist General Convention.
In addition, Pastor Arrington is involved with his community as he has served as a trustee of the Canton Community Clinic, Chairman of the Greater Canton Martin Luther King Jr. Commission and co-founder of the Stark County
Re-entry Program for ex-offenders.
Pastor Walter J. Arrington received a special award of the sword for his expository teaching at the Biblical Exposition Conference April, 2012.
As a preacher called by God to share the good news of Jesus Christ, Pastor Arrington is dedicated to rightly dividing the Word of truth (II Tim 2:15) and is committed to Paul's exhortation to Timothy to preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season...! (II Tim 4:2)
